The Mississippi is a river on the M and the longest river in the United States, being over 3,780 km long. It flows through 10 states, from its source in Minnesota to its mouth in the Gulf of Mexico. The Mississippi is an important waterway, enabling the transport of, among others, agricultural commodities, coal, petroleum and other industrial products. The river is also a popular fishing spot, and there are numerous national parks and historic sites related to the history of the United States along its banks.
It is one of the longest rivers in Asia starting with the letter M, with a length of over 4,900 km. It flows through six countries: China, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam.
