The tiger salamander, commonly known as the tiger salamander, is a species of tailed amphibian from the ambystomata family.
This salamander is found in North America, where it inhabits moist forests, water reservoirs and rivers. Adult individuals reach a length of 15 to 25 cm, although sometimes there are larger individuals. A characteristic feature of this species is an orange-black stripe running through the body, resembling tiger stripes.
