Lithuania is a country beginning with the letter L. It is a country located in Eastern Europe on the Baltic Sea. It borders with Latvia, Belarus, Poland and Russia (more precisely with the Kaliningrad District). Another accepted name is the Republic of Lithuania. According to the administrative division, Lithuania consists of ten districts (apskritys) with the capital in Vilnius. The official national language is Lithuanian and the currency adopted is the Euro (EUR).
Lithuania is known for its golden amber, which is often called "Lithuanian gold". The country is also famous for its folk handicrafts, in particular the carving of crosses in wood. This technique has been officially included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Lithuanian ceramics, linen, wooden clogs and regional folk costumes are also recognizable.
