Frankfurt am Main is a town beginning with the letter F. It is located in Germany, in the federal state of Hesse, at the northern end of the Upper Rhine Plain. As the full name suggests - Frankfurt is situated on the Main, which divides the town into two parts. It is a city with poviat rights, the fifth largest in the country in terms of population. Frankfurt is one of the largest and most important financial metropolises in the world and a well-known exhibition center. The headquarters of all major German private banks, as well as bankers' houses and other financial institutions are located in the city center. It is also the second place in the world where securities are traded.
Frankfurt is often called European New York, and the city itself is considered by some to be the least traditional of all German towns. It combines tradition, monuments, culture, heritage with modernity, development and technological progress.
