New York

New York is a city located in the northeastern part of the United States, known for its many monuments, tourist attractions and beautiful neighborhoods. The most important monument is undoubtedly the Statue of Liberty, a symbol of freedom and democracy, which stood on Liberty Island. Another popular landmark is the Empire State Building, which was the tallest building in the world until 1970 (now, for 2023, the tallest building in the world is Burj Kalifa in Dubai).

New York is made up of five main boroughs:

  • Manhattan is the most important district of New York, where there are skyscrapers, shops, restaurants and many tourist attractions, such as Central Park, Times Square and Broadway. In Manhattan, it is also worth seeing the famous Empire State Building, which is over 440 meters high.
  • Brooklyn is a district located west of Manhattan, famous for its interesting museums, such as the Brooklyn Art Museum and the Chocolate Museum. Also worth seeing is the famous Brooklyn Bridge that connects Brooklyn with Manhattan.
  • Queens is a neighborhood east of Manhattan and is famous for its many parks, such as Flushing Meadows-Corona Park and Forest Park. Queens is also home to one of the world's largest airports, John Paul II Airport. John F. Kennedy.
  • Located north of Manhattan, the Bronx is home to popular tourist attractions such as Yankee Stadium and the New York Botanical Gardens. Also worth a visit is the famous Bronx Zoo, which is home to a variety of animals, including lions, zebras and hippos.
  • Staten Island is the smallest of the five major boroughs in New York City, located in the south of the city. It is worth seeing the famous Verrazano-Narrows Bridge, which connects Staten Island with Brooklynen, and enjoying the beautiful views of Lower Manhattan and Friars Island.

New York is also a city of culture, art and science. Noteworthy is the Metropolitan Museum of Art, which collects over 2 million works of art from around the world. Also of note are the American Museum of Natural History and the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA).

Due to its cultural, economic and tourist wealth, New York is one of the largest and most important cities in the world. As of 2021, the city's population was over 8.3 million, and the metropolitan area has over 20 million inhabitants.
