Often referred to as the only animal on E, there are actually quite a few of them. The emu is a large bird and the only representative of the cassowary family. Emu cannot fly, but runs very fast. It can reach speeds of up to 8 km / h. Naturally, emu are found only in Australia. The largest individuals are up to 190 cm long and weigh up to 55 kg. The main food ingredients of these flightless birds are seeds, fruit and insects.
Aesculapius is an animal beginning with the letter E. It is a species of non-poisonous snake from the family of the midwives. It is considered the largest snake living in Poland (it lives mainly in the Bieszczady Mountains) and throughout Central Europe. The length of his body may exceed two meters. The longest observed specimen was over 225 cm. In Poland, however, a 161 cm long Aesculapius was recorded.
The escalope feeds mainly on mice and various other small mammals - such as lizards, eggs, chicks, small birds and other snakes. It also happens that it eats young invertebrates. It is not poisonous - while hunting, it grabs the prey with its mouth, wraps its body, chokes it for a few minutes, and then swallows it whole.
